Horse Camp

Love both horses and the outdoors? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

Horse Camp runs 7 weeks throughout the summer, with both a day and an overnight option. Learn all the ins and outs of what it takes to have a horse of your very own from feeding and stall cleaning to taking your first steps on a horse. Already have the basics down? Take this week to try something new, ride a different horse at summer camp and use the 5 days to further your knowledge of equines with fun hands on learning.

Have a sibling that wants to attend Camp but isn't into horses like you?

Not a problem! In addition to our Horse Camp option, we also run 7 weeks of Traditional Camp! Both offered in day and overnight, you can enjoy several fun camp activities such as boating, swimming, sports and games, arts and crafts, survival and so much more!

Camp Marshall offers several discounts such as multi-week, sibling, Military and an Early Bird Special when camper registration opens.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is previous experience required?

A: No! Any amount of previous experience isn't required to attend Horse Camp. All we ask is that your child is confident enough to work around horses with the staff members and hold themselves accountable to be safe and respectful of our horses.

Q: Are they grouped based on age?

A: No, students/campers are always put into a group and paired with an instructor based upon their riding level. Each week campers will complete a riding evaluation with our licensed riding instructors and our barn manager/equine director to determine horses and group.

Q: Do you need to bring your own tack/helmet etc.?

A: CMEC provides all the horses tack, grooming supplies and other barn related items essential to day to day care. We ask that you please leave your own tack and all other supplies at home. CMEC has helmets that campers are allowed to borrow for the week but we do encourage them to bring their own. All other riding attire such as boots, riding pants/jeans etc. must be sent with the camper.

Q: Do you offer financial aid?

A: Yes we do. Thanks to our local community, we receive donations towards our Campership Fund in a variety of ways. To complete the forms needed to apply for financial aid, please click here.
